The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Education, has announced its 2024/2025 scholarship awards for eligible students in Nigerian tertiary institutions. These scholarships are managed by the Federal Scholarship Board (FSB)

Federal Government Scholarship 2024/2025

  • Host Country: Nigeria
  • Eligible Institutions: Federal or State Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education
  • Available Levels:
    • Undergraduate (specific fields of study)
    • Postgraduate (Masters and PhD for all fields)
  • Application Deadline: One month from the date of announcement.

Postgraduate Fields

Open to Masters Degree and PhD students in all academic disciplines.

Eligibility Requirements

Undergraduate Applicants

  • Must be enrolled full-time at Federal or State tertiary institutions.
  • Must possess a NIN slip.
  • Minimum qualification of 7 As and Bs in WASSCE, including English and Mathematics.
  • Must be in their 2nd year or higher of study.
  • Age limit: 17 to 20 years old.

Postgraduate Applicants

  • Must possess a First Degree with Second Class Upper (2.1) honors or higher.
  • Age limit:
    • Masters: 35 years or younger.
    • PhD: 40 years or younger.
  • PhD candidates must provide their NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

NCE/HND Applicants

  • Must maintain a CGPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Required Documents

Applicants must upload the following:

  • Letter of Admission
  • CGPA result
  • National Identity Number (NIN) slip
  • State of Origin Certificate

For shortlisted candidates:

  • Academic certificates
  • Data page of a valid International Passport
  • Medical Report from a government hospital
  • Birth Certificate and Indigene Letter
  • Police Clearance Certificate

  2. Complete and Print: Fill in the form carefully, following all provided guidelines.
  3. Avoid Disqualification: Ensure you submit only one application. Multiple submissions will result in disqualification.

Important Notes

  • Beneficiaries must maintain a CGPA of 3.50 or higher to remain eligible.
  • Changes in course or institution while on the scholarship are not permitted.
  • Applications close one month after publication of this notice.
